I headed over 14 years various international commodity teams for railway-converter and their components. In my strong focus to create the best possible added value I challenged the suppliers and the internal teams to find the best ideas and compromisses to get an attractive product on best cost with high quality and excellent availability. Main strategy was to identify the best partners in the world and develop them to a sustainable supplychain. I step in partially to the details to be able to really challenge both sides, internally and the supplier.

I was for 14 years located in the converterproduction side of Bombardier Transportation in Mannheim and was closely connected to the production and logistic people there. As head of Global Commodity Management it was essential to agree with the Heads of Operational Purchasing on the right development of our vendors in terms of logistic and orderexecution. The leadbuyers initiated and negotiated with the master vendors logistic contracts to enable JIT or Kanbandeliveries partially also via EDI-systems like Supply On.
